2009 has only just begun and the iPhone Dev Team has already gifted us with great news…
The iPhone 3G is now unlockable! This means that you can use other 3rd party cellphone services instead of AT&T, O2, or whatever you’re tied to now. This might not be that big of a deal for most in the US as AT&T is the only company providing compatible 3G service for the iPhone. This however is great news for any international travelers or people outside the US who use many different carriers.
It requires an upgrade of the iPhone to 2.2 firmware and the use of QuickPwn once the baseband and firmware have been upgraded. If you’re interested, go here to read more…
