Scobleizer Joins Rackspace!

I know I’m late to the game on this one but I figured I’d write about it anyways.  Robert Scoble, the former tech evangelist for Microsoft, frequent guest on the former TechTV shows and many various tech podcasts has left Fast Company TV to join the Rackspace family.  He will be joining Rackspace to start a new venture called Building 43, a social media site that will promote the cloud and all it’s uses.  For new readers of Iconocritic, I work as a Network Security Administrator for Rackspace, so I see on a daily basis the impact that Web 2.0 and other social media has on news, businesses, and our culture.  It’ll be interesting to see what Scoble does with Building 43 and his new relationship to Rackspace.  I’m expecting it to be akin to Channel 9 where props and criticisms of Rackspace and other cloud service providers will be displayed and discussed.  I also see him becoming a big proponent of Rackspace’s Fanatical Support and using his name to increase visibility of the Rackspace brand and its subsidiaries.

There’s a good editorial on Techcrunch right now about Scoble, Building 43, and his vision for his newest venture.
